Lois Pfister

PfisterLois Pfister first joined the Binghamton Philharmonic, then known as the Binghamton Symphony and Choral Society, Inc., in January 1980, when she was engaged to play in the First Violin section. She has performed in most of the organization’s concerts since then, holding every seat in the section up to Assistant Concertmaster.

She holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Music Education from Ithaca College and a Masters’ Degree in Music Performance from The Pennsylvania State University. She teaches strings privately in Cortland and performs extensively on the violin. She is the concertmistress of the Cortland College-Community Orchestra and has served as soloist with them on several occasions. She also performs with the Tri-Cities Opera Orchestra and the Binghamton Downtown Singers on a regular basis. She teaches at SUNY Cortland, serves as Secretary/Treasurer for the Binghamton Local of the American Federation of Musicians, and also plays the electric bass for the Blue Monday Band.
