All musicians in the orchestra are members of Binghamton Local 380, American Federation of Musicians (AFM).  The AFM currently has about 80,000 members.  There are three orchestral players conferences affiliated with the AFM:  the International Conference of Symphony and Opera Musicians (ICSOM), which represents over 4,000 musicians from 52 major symphony orchestras throughout the United States; the Organization of Canadian Symphony Musicians (OCSM), which represents approximately 1,100 musicians from 20 Canadian orchestras; the Regional Orchestra Players Association (ROPA), which represents over 6,000 musicians from 80 orchestras in North America.  The musicians of the Binghamton Philharmonic are members of ROPA and send a delegate to that players’ conference every year.
